SO we apparently have the same taste in films, y/y?

I want someone to guess 8 so I can find out where it's from--I love that anyone would say this.

I was going to have one of the more dramatic lines from Gladiator but I just couldn't resist the queer giraffes.
And the line from RotK... just reading that speech of Theoden's makes the hairs rise on the back of my neck.

8 is a very good film. And 1... well, they say that line more than once in it so you should recognise it...

And good lines--they're addictive. Do you find sometimes that you see something twice and words from it will just... will not go away?
Theoden's speech: YES. "A sword day, a red day..."
I love Aragorn later on, too--"...when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day!"--but I think Theoden's hope for glory--here, and more despairingly at Helm's Deep, is chilling.
AHH, GEEKDOM.
The image of Anthony Hopkins came to me before the face mask, I'll admit, but it's Silence of the Lambs?

Also: clearly queer giraffes were the only option

And oh, if only my memory served any useful purpose...

Sounds like a reasonable plan to me - I'd like to go more than I do at the moment but I'm usually too lazy to get round to it. Which is a a bit pathetic really.
Yeah, it is Silence of the Lambs. One of those films that for me, like several others on this list, is as close to perfection in casting, writing, acting and directing as anything could get.
Do you find sometimes that you see something twice and words from it will just... will not go away?
Yes! Though annoyingly, I get lines stuck in my head, complete with intonation, but no clue where they are from or even what gender the speaker was and it drives me nuts trying to figure out the source. (Especially since sometimes they are from books and the voice has only ever been in my head.)
"...ere the sun rises." Theoden got all the really good speeches, didn't he? Aragorn's is pretty darn good too, I agree, but Theoden's do make me physically shiver. The one at Helm's Deep about "Where is the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? They have passed like rain on the mountain..." Just magnificent.
And yes, you do have to do this meme so I can have a go! Though I can't promise I'll be as good as you :-)

Nighty night.

Yes! Totally correct - I adore that film beyond the telling of it. The first time I saw it I actually cried I laughed so hard. And it was a toss up between that quote, "Why do we even have that lever?" and "Hey, I've been turned into a cow, can I go home?"

Franz Ferdinand do some great lyrics - I love the line in the song about "I'm on BBC 2 now, telling Terry Wogan how, I made it..."! Brilliant.

and
8. Really? When was the last time you stabbed a corpse? - Gosford Park
But the last one just seems so unlikely!

But yeah, he did a good job as Rosencrantz. The sandwich bit is maybe my favorite thing ever.

It is odd for him to play someone so low key - though I suppose from his POV it is restful.
My favourite scene is when they are in the garden and he says "Oh. You mean you pretend to be him, and I ask you questions" followed by the two very fast recaps of Hamlet and their total inability to connect what they've just said to Hamlet's behaviour.
