I need more HL icons

The rewatch continues:

Der Todesengel

Which is totally 'angel of death' right? You know, the amount of titles in German for this that involve some variant of 'death' is getting a little disturbing! They aren't half as morbid in English, though I suppose since this one is 'Deadly Medicine' it does follow the trend. I remembered this one as coming much later in the series, but that may be down to the muddled way HL got shown on British terrestrial TV. So, annoying reporter continued to be annoying and the badguy was a cut-rate serial killer with quite the stupidest girlfriend ever. 'Oh honey, we need to tell someone about the patients who vanished after you treated them and you made me swear silence... You want me to wait for you somewhere dark and deserted and totally on my own? Sure thing!'

One thing I've noticed in these is Duncan seems to take a lot longer to heal from things than Immortals do in fic. Though I suspect that changes depending on plot needs.

Der Russe

Or 'The Sea Witch' which is definitely more intriguing. Not much to say about this except I find Adrian Paul doing accents incredibly amusing and he looked hilariously discomfited by Alexei Voishin kissing him. Now I understand why I've read several fanfics with Voishin perving over Duncan like a big perv. Oh, and apparently Voishin had the amazing power of a never-ending blood supply because once he'd been decapitated by propeller (which they flagged up nice and early was going to happen just in case there was any suspense) he appeared able to turn the sea by the boat red for a good few minutes. I said 'eww' a lot.

Das verlorene Schwert

The lost sword? Again with the literal titles, Deutschland. Though 'Revenge is Sweet' is just a big cliche. I remembered this episode too though I had it in my head it was Tia Carrere as Rebecca. I do like how they keep showing us that Tessa is an artist rather than just saying it - she's always making or drawing something. Ooh, and another policeman who is suspicious about Duncan appeared. Maybe they can all get together and form a club. I thought in the end Rebecca was convinced to play dead remarkably quickly considering she'd spent 3 years training for her revenge. But the episode wins the 'most ridiculous quickening' so far award - why on earth did the flowerbeds explode? And why did Duncan appear to be trying to run away from it? Now I want to know if Reinhardt ended up buried under the tulips...

And they need to stop using 'Who Wants to Live Forever' as a themesong. I thought it was terribly poigant as a 15 year-old, but nowadays combined with Duncan's sadface it just makes me giggle. Actually, Duncan's sadface makes me giggle by itself - I'm a bit worried I won't be able to take it seriously when things that really are sad happen!

Oh, oh! And I totally forgot about the flashback where AP had to switch from a 'I Am Highlander' Scottish accent to a southern English one and back again over about 4 lines. I laughed a lot.

And on a final note, I want Duncan's hair tie.
