You jammy devil! I've been about six feet away from him in the front row of a TV studio REM gig, not quite close enough to run across and hug him but close enough - and small enough audience - to kid myself that he was smiling right at me a few times. I think I grinned my way through the entire session! I have ridiculous love for the man.
Oooh, pretty pictures. Thank you - I have gazed contentedly for a bit.
The music was excellent. See here (http://janne-d.livejournal.com/57181.html#cutid1) for what I can remember of what they played. It was all pretty rocky aside from one or two slower paced songs - the only song they didn't play that I would really have liked was Everybody Hurts.
Mr Stipe also did some very funky dancing. He smiled a lot too *sighs*.
ETA: I can only imagine how cool it must have been to be front row for a TV performance. You are so lucky.

He has seriously blue eyes. And is rather gorgeous close up.
