I was going to do the End of Year Fic Meme for 2009 - and then realised I only posted two fics total in 2009 so there's not much point! (In Turning We Come Around Right and Fear Not, Fair Prince!)

That is so pathetic and I am disappointed in myself.

The only consolation is that in terms of actual written words in 2009 I'm not too bad at around 61000, but since this is due to the ongoing Merlin AU that I haven't added to for, um, a while (4 months) the consolation is a small one.

That's cool - I was very excited when I started it. I may have been a leetle overambitious with the plot I thought up - it was going to be for the BigBang so I was aiming for > 35000, but when the deadline for the BigBang came around I was on 44000 and with half the plot still to go! And without the deadline it slipped onto the backburner a bit, sigh.

I do really want to finish it still though.

Sorry, that was slightly misleading - the 61000 is the total for 2009 counting 'In Turning' which was about 13000 and 'Fear Not, Fair Prince' as well as the WIP.

The AU is currently at 47000 and I'm about 2/3 of the way through so it is likely to end up somewhere around 70000. I think.

It is a modern day AU with Arthur as a CID detective and Merlin as an intelligence analyst who joins the department just as magic starts coming back... cue various events from S1 adjusted and mixed up to fit. I'm rather enjoying it so hopefully other people will too! (It is just getting the motivation and time to get the words down that is the issue.)
