Dilemma: what should A do?

So I have dragged out the huge Merlin WIP of doom that I started yonks ago and finally added a little to it, but I am now Stuck Again and need a good kick up the backside help.

For those of you who had forgotten the Merlin WIP of doom (and who could blame you?) it is the modern AU where Arthur is a detective, Merlin is an intelligence analyst, magic is rising once again and I merrily warp S1 events to suit myself.

Now, I am 52000 words into the damn thing and have a pretty good idea of the remaining plot to come. The trouble is I'm not quite sure what bits should come next which is making it tricky to try and bridge into them.

Nimueh was the apparent 'big bad' of season one, so i lean towards her.

Hmm. And it isn't her big finale because (in keeping with S1) that comes later on and is the big ending for the fic, so I could put her next...

Really hard to say. I picked Valiant because I can image him attacking Uther for money, though that makes him more of a mercenary than a terrorist. It really depends on what you need more, a griffin attacking would probably need Merlin and Arthur finding a way to unite and fighting it off together whereas sending someone to attack someone would probably require several scenes of character interaction with that character that should have some purpose and it should push you in the right direction so that your plot moves forward. IDK, I'm just really excited about this. :D

Hee. The griffin will be in there somewhere, don't you worry. That has been one of my pet plans for this since the start - I'm just trying to fumble my way into what happens immediately next.
