So I finally got around to watching the last episodes I hadn't seen on my shiny xmas present of Doctor Who DVDs. Which means I just watched Army of Ghosts and Doomsday back to back. Whoa. I mean, whoa. I spent most of them both going "aargh" a lot as the situation just kept getting worse and then I got to weep like a little tiny baby at the end. (And then giggle tearily at the Runaway Bride teaser).

When does the next series start? *taps foot impatiently* I need to see David Tennant interacting with John Barrowman. In the worst way.

In other scifi news, Primeval continues to be not quite as good as Doctor Who, but it did have an awful lot of prehistoric spiders dropping from the ceiling so it gets points for making me whimper. And the annoying cast members were slightly less annoying this week, which is probably a good sign.

I watched Doomsday in a room full of my friends and my mum so I couldn't give into the huge, heartbroken tears that really, really wanted to come out! New series starts at Easter, right? *crosses fingers*

And I keep forgetting to watch Primeval, it looks like ITV does Torchwood, which I think might annoy me. Would you recommend?

Hmm, Primeval is okay. It's not really like Torchwood - I think I saw it being described somewhere as more US in feel than either Doctor Who or Torchwood and that is probably fair. It is on primetime too so the storylines are obviously much more restrained than TW and it seems like there is more of an actual arc going to occur than individual epis as there is definitely an underlying plot going on. I don't think Torchwood really had an overall arc.

I've enjoyed it so far, but it's not yet one of those shows where I would make a special effort to catch it or be disappointed if I missed it. It has a fairly large regular cast (based on a sole 2 epis, but it's been the same each time) of 7 so it feels quite different to Torchwood just from that, and I don't think it has as much humour. But there is some interesting mystery going on in the subplot. Basically, the lead man's wife disappeared 8 years ago in the Forest of Dean and they have now discovered temporal anomalies there and elsewhere that are letting prehistoric creatures move back and forth, and it seems that his wife may still be alive and involved in this or something else covert...

Anyway, that is a long post just to say that it is all right and quite entertaining! I'd say it was worth a look.
