huh... who'd have thought it
Jan. 13th, 2008 05:07 pmI watched the first episode of the 2nd series of Primeval this morning. I remember it being quite good with some unexpected twists in the plotline.
Sadly, what I mainly got from the new episode was that here was a team that was even less competent than the Torchwood lot under stress.
So here's the situation: at least one raptor dinosaur is loose in a shopping centre and has killed two security guards. Your 4 person team turns up to stop the beast - how many tranquiliser guns do you hand out?
They handed out two. That's right, two weapons between 4 people against a prehistoric killing machine, leaving half the team unable to defend themselves. And there was at least one point where they split up so that the two people with weapons were together and the others were left elsewhere with nothing at all!
Oh, and the justification for not giving one of them a tranq gun was he'd never brought an animal down with one. So... just a thought: either train the guy or don't take him on a mission!
I mean, good grief. Even I can strategise better than that.

I've still never seen Primeval, though I did see two of the cast on Jonathan Ross on Friday and was mostly distracted by the realisation that one of the girls in it was that girl from S Club 7.

Date: 2008-01-13 07:40 pm (UTC)I did enjoy the first series - it had this interesting ongoing plot of the wife who'd been missing for 8 years and returned, but was completely unsympathetic and totally on her own agenda. And there was a really good twist in the last episode. So I'll probably give this series a few more episodes to improve! (I think this one suffered from a lack of the Machiavellian wife).
It is an SClub7 girlie. She's not terrible at the acting thing.
