Ideas. Where the hell do they come from? Can you make those little fuckers show up?
If I knew that, I'd bottle it and sell it and support myself in comfort for the rest of my life! I suspect that my ideas tend to percolate through from things in fandom, things in RL and pick up a good dose of randomness along the way.
Wild horse-bunnies. When a story just gets pulled right out of you. Do you get them?
Occasionally. Very occasionally.
Writer's block. Have you been scourged?
Yup. But only on the longer stories.
Clean up duty. Do you like editing?
Hmm. I like correcting mistakes. I'm not too keen on rewriting more than about a paragraph though.
The ending. Is it hard for you to find the ending?
I usually know what the ending I'm working towards is going to be. Actually finding the words to finish it off properly… now that can be tricky.
The title. Where do you get yours? Do you have yours when you start the story?
Hah. How about "never". The title just about always comes last and I wrack my brain for ages, pulling up random quotes and going in circles.
Plot. If you plot out your stories first, raise your hand.
Usually I'll get a line or an image and things will follow on from there pretty organically. The long stuff starts like that and then I start planning ahead once I have more of an idea where I'm going.
POV. How do you choose your POV for a scene? For a story?
I find out whose POV it's going to be when I start to write it. Once or twice I've had an idea, had in mind it would be character A's POV and then when I started to write, it came out as character B instead. Why? Don't know – that's just the way the story wanted to be told.
Challenge. Do you like them? Do they inspire you?
Never done one, probably never will. I suck at deadlines and I know it, so challenges and me aren't a good match.
Sex. Do you like writing sex?
Yup. Sometimes it's easier than writing the rest of it…
