Man, I loved The Shawshank Redemption. I need to buy that ASAP, I can't believe I don't already own it.

It is definitely one of my all time favourites. The special edition is pretty good. I don't know if they have it in other regions, but here in Region 2 there is a documentary extra with the critic Mark Kermode on the film and its impact that is really good and the director does an interesting and entertaining commentary too.

As somebody who owns a mere five dvds, participating in this madness would be distinctly boring.

Good grief, how is that possible? I am in awe of your ability not to buy DVDs. Anyway, presumably these are all things you really like, so you could easily list them...

Good grief, how is that possible? I think it has something to do with my evil comics habit. Especially with regard to comics fairs. *grin* something about cheap comics, that normally results in me going totally overboard every month when I'm in London, because I've been good for the rest of the month, which is the lousiest excuse ever for buying 20-30 pounds of 25p or 50p comics in one afternoon. That and I'm not big television person, largely because my tastes have very little in common with the parental ones. So the list is:
X-men 2 (what a surprise!)
x-men 1.5 (surprising, huh)
Confessions of a dangerous mind (which I saw in the cinema and loved)
Donnie Darko (which my father slaept through)
and a bootleg copy of Hellboy, which my bro has reclaimed I think.
muchado exhitement, yeah?

OMG ... you have Wilby Wonderful!?!?!?! Is it anywhere near as good as I'm building it up in my head to be? Do region 1 things play on computers? I've been asking everyone this, but no one seems to have a clue, or they're all secretly trying to break me of my CKR addiction :)

It is certainly a good film, with the added bonus of damn sexy fine people - not being privy to your buildup, I don't know if you'll be disappointed or not! It's not the best thing I've ever seen, for instance...

Plus, I should get to see it on the big screen tomorrow, yay! (How much do you hate me now? *smirk*)

In my experience, Region 1 will play as my DVD prog takes the region from the disc BUT will only allow the region to be changed 5 times before freezing on just one, so I basically only use it for Region 1 stuff. Eventually, I'll get an upgrade to multiregion on my player though.

I do not hate you. I am above such petty jealousy. *digs out voodoo doll* hehe :p
