1. Put your music player on shuffle
2. The first lines of twenty songs = a poem; the first line of the twenty-first song is the title

The Kingdom is Ransacked

If you go lookin' for hot water
When I saw you in the garden of Gethsemane,
You wanted a challenge, it's calling you higher.
I lit a thin green candle.

Well they were given the grapes that go ripe in the sun that loosen the screws at the back of the tongue,
If it be your will.

Starshine, never gonna find me,
You can reach, but you can't grab it.

Where's your head at?
It's a decision that was made between you and me.

Now I will tell you what I've done for you:
I'll take the position, assume the missionary part.
Your heart is not open so I must go.

Six o'clock in the morning;
I can't say that I love Jesus,
Never knew I could feel like this.

Set me free;
The heart is a bloom,
It's coming up, it's dare.
Tonight I felt stronger inside of your ways.

Seems a religious theme got in there somehow!

I like it! It has a certain internal coherence that's quite charming. *g*

The only line I recognised was from Come What May from Moulin Rouge. I have both soundtrack cds. with just the tracks I like saved as a playlist.

And I should have recognised the line from "Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World". Not the later U2 stuff, but Achtung Baby used to be one of my favourite albums.

It's a fun meme. I noticed my random play seemed a bit weighted towards U2 and REM for some reason. Not that this is a bad thing - I suppose I do have a few albums by each on there.

"Six o'clock in the morning" isn't very much to go on - I might get that as a random quote but maybe not in the middle of lots of other stuff. Achtung Baby was the first U2 album I bought and I saw the Zooropa tour in Glasgow that year. Good times! I think maybe their later albums aren't quite as coherent as before, but there are some amazing songs on them. I love Beautiful Day.

I only have the one Moulin Rouge soundtrack - what's on the other one? I didn't even know there were two! I love the film but watching it all the way to the end ruins me.
