20,000 words down of the Merlin BigBang and I think I'm about halfway. Depends how much writing the rest of the plan is going to take, really.

I'm also starting to think I might be writing gen because I have no idea where Merlin and Arthur getting together would actually fit in! This is slightly bizarre. Maybe I can claim it's actually preslash? Or maybe they can get together right at the end, hmm...

Anyway. I have written the first big action-type bit and Nimueh just turned up so I am cautiously pleased with how it is going aside fom the mysteriously absent slashiness.

... I find that, too, sometimes--that their four-way chemistry lends itself to gen really well. Don't lock them in a cupboard, or anything, I guess, and just see if they end up kissing against the cupboard door all by their lonesome?

I think there won't be that much 4-way stuff in this either unless I want it to end up being about 100,000 words. Morgana and Gwen are certainly in it, but I'm not sure there will be much with all 4 together at all.

The trouble is I have all these plot points that I want to happen that are nothing to do with relationships and all about actions. (This is the complete opposite of how I normally write since the main objective of most of my fic is people getting together.) But just getting all the plot that is non-relationship-orientated written is probably going to take me 40,000 words. Working in a build up to an emotional plotline as well... I don't know. Maybe they'll just end up in that kind of place from the rest of it anyway. Or maybe I will lock them in a cupboard.
