OMFG Star Trek 2009!

Just got back from seeing it and I am so gleeful it is ridiculous. It's been ages since I came out of a film feeling actually buzzed but I did tonight. I loved every minute of that, and I loved the little nods to previous installments (Admiral Archer's beagle! Captain Pike!) and it was just SO MUCH FUN I HAVE TO USE CAPITALS!

And the utterly, mind-bogglingly amazingly cool reboot concept they use...

It's a canon AU. They went for it and they didn't take it back at the end and it rocks. We're in a brand new Trek universe and the view is mighty fine!

Yeah woohoo I loved it and the potential for further storytelling, its AU and it has a new arc. And the slashiness between kirk and spock is hotness...Ooh how i wish i could read some great slash fiction on the new arc. (2009)

Try newtrekslash & st_reboot for the comms and there is a kink meme at st_xi_kink. I've found some pretty good stuff just noodling around those places.

Totally, totally awesome! I was slightly giddy.

Oh, oh and the bit where the guy in the red space suit joined the team? Couldn't see his death coming at all... /sarcasm.

And I loved cute little Chekov and Sulu with his expandable katana that he just happens to always carry on his space suit just in case he needs to have mad space swordfights with people... and Uhura pretty much rocked in my opinion too.

Simon Pegg's Scottish accent didn't entirely convince but then neither did the original's and he had some great lines.

Chekov was so adorable! I wanted to steal him and keep him in my pocket. Uhura rocked but she didn't have enough to do. I loved Dr McCoy; I'm wanting much McCoy/Kirk fic.

(edited to cover up the fact that I spelt McCoy two different ways in the same sentence *facepalm*)
