janne_dOMG. I just went and saw Ong Bak and it is possibly the most impressive, visceral martial arts film I have ever seen. Tony Jaa is a total fighting god. The things that man can do with his legs are insane - and there is no help from effects or wires, just him totally kicking serious butt. And heads. And being really seriously hard.
I have never winced so much when watching a movie before either. This was brutal people, they really do seem to be beating the shit out of each other. But there are also humorous bits and a very entertaining car chase type thing, and the way the amazing Tony can fly over and under all obstacles in his path just has to be seen to be believed. Even the director was obviously in awe - whenever TJ did something that was particularly cool, he'd show it twice from different angles, just so we could marvel all over again! Fabulous!
And did I mention that Tony Jaa has the most gorgeous body ever and is really pretty darn cute? Damn, I love what martial arts does to guys' physiques...
Go, watch it. It's great.
