Oh, that is just weird!

Here I was watching this vid of Dean and Castiel's funniest moments (I may have to cave in and actually watch the show proper at some point) when I had the most bizarre moment of actor recognition ever. One of the clips is from the episode where Dean takes Castiel to the brothel - and the hooker called Chastity he sends Castiel off with? Is freaking Katya Virshilas, professional ballroom dancer from off of Strictly Come Dancing!
I was envious enough of her for dancing with Antonio Banderas (here). Girl gets all the good guys. (Oh yeah, and Phil Tufnell...)

I also referred to James Jordan exclusively as "Ray Kowalski" throughout, and when he went, I was like, "THEY VOTED OUT RAY KOWALSKI!?"
Equanimity, I tell you.

It took me ages to recognise her on Strictly Come Dancing, but when I did, I was like, "That's the woman! The mean woman in that Antonio Banderas film
Oh, me too - I knew I recognised her but I could not think why until they mentioned on It Takes Two that she'd danced with Antonio Banderas. And then I was like 'it's her! who did that sexy tango thing with Antonio!' (I didn't remember her character being mean but then I watched the film on an 8 hour flight in a stlight stupour and don't really remember much of it.)
I confess I adore Strictly - I've watched ever series so far. It's people in shiny dresses! Dancing! And sarcastic commentary by Craig! I love it.

The thing is, the resemblance is superficial but definitely there (particularly if you have, er, a great desire to see it, to the extent that you're like, "Tattoo on the upper arm ahoy!"):
Janne, we need to write this AU. Like, even if it's 800 words long and full of typos. It needs to happen.

Date: 2009-12-04 10:26 pm (UTC)Uh... I think so? It's my shiny happy show for winter these days, though I'm not hugely invested in anyone to win this year. I was completely obsessed with Mark Ramprakash and Alesha Dixon winning their series (fortunately they did so I didn't have to sulk) but nobody has really grabbed me this year - except Natalie Cassidy and I was fairly sure she wasn't going to win.

That is enough resemblance for proof in my book! (Matthew Cutler also has a rather nice upper arm tattoo btw. Though he looks less like RayK than James Jordan does.)

I am fully in agreement that it needs to happen - I just mislaid my dS-writing-ability somewhere around the time I got into writing SGA! *sigh*
