Is it just me, or does anyone else have problems when you try and open a link to AO3 in a new tab? Because it seems that every time I try to do that, it crashes my browser and it is really pigging annoying!

ETA make that 'try to get to AO3' at all, not just through a link.

It seems to be working normally for me. A bit slow, mind you, but nothing as spectactular as crashing my browser!

I wish it was a bit slow. I have immobility.

If I click on a link, it doesn't load. If I open the link in another tab, it doesn't load. If I try to go to the AO3 homepage through my favourites menu, it doesn't load.

What happens is: the percentage done bar whips all the way to nearly 100%, the window goes white, the bottom of the browser says 'one item remaining Downloading data etc'. And then after that nothing changes for... well, the latest attempt is at 30 minutes and counting, the screen is still blank and there is still that one bloody item remaining. When I tried earlier, I gave up and tried to redirect the tab to a different website - when I came back an hour later after eating dinner, it was still stuck on nothingness. Same if I try and close down the tab - I have to close the whole browser (sometimes via task manager) and start again to get out of it.

Grr, argh.

This is the second day where this has happened to me - it is only AO3 that does it, and before it was probably about a week ago... I'm pretty sure I have managed to get there in between but that doesn't make me feel better about being completely locked out just now!

Wow, that's strange! I hope it resolves itself soon. *hugs*

Darn it. I have managed to get there in the last week or so, but this is the second instance I've had where the archive webpage Just Won't Load. It sits there with a blank page, saying it has one item remaining, and after that nothing happens - current attempt is at 26 minutes and counting - and if I try to redirect to another website or close the tab, I get 'Not responding' from my browser and have to close everything down and start again just to break the deadlock.

I wanted to read a fic there too, wah!

Maybe it's your browser? I use Firefox and never noticed anything like that. Your problems sound like something that should be reported as a bug so that they can try to find what's causing the problems. Although reporting it is easier said then done when you can't access the site...

Precisely. *looks rueful* I use IE and I don't have a problem with any other sites - which I suppose is good for the 'bug' hypothesis.

Darn it, I don't have that. This is the second time this has happened with AO3 too *sulks* I think it doesn't like me.

Are you still experiencing problems? Because I just started experiencing problems -- browser crash or extreme slowing down -- around 2 weeks ago. I finally realized that it's when I have an AO3 fic up (especially pinned) that the browser malfunctions.

I use Firefox and I didn't use to have this problem. Any advice? Thanks...
