http://www3.sympatico.ca/harrytm/dd1990.html. (the links don't work because it's an old site and I can't fix it, but the information about the convention is all okay.)
Sadly I have no Linlithgow Palace icon, so Eilean Donan will have to do.
It will do. It's so beautiful. Utterly photogenic. One of the prettiest castles ever.

Ooops! Okay, I'll try to remember that. And I just saw the beheading scene in that movie about Elizabeth I, too.
Scotty from Star Trek was also apparently born in Linlithgow - I think they are putting a plaque somewhere!
Really! Cool. I thought he was born in Vancouver. Shows what I know!
I am firm in my belief that the second one never happened at all.
Absolutely not. It does not exist. It is someone's mislaid opium dream.

The actor probably was born in Vancouver, but according to Star Trek canon the character of Scotty was born in whatever-century Linlithgow. So yes, they are going to commemorate a fictional character from the future. Bizarre.

it is conceivable that I was doing tours when you were there then!
How cool! We might even have seen each other. I was impressed by the manner and costumes of the people giving tours and serving us coffee - very organized, and evocative of 16th century, but not in a tacky way.
Scotty was born in Linlithgow! Okay, I concede, that's kind of interesting... So once again the art of fiction trumpsthe science of act.
